The Huracán GT3 Evo is one of the most demanding yet fascinating cars Automobilista 2 has to offer. It doesn't hold your hand. It gives little feedback on grip levels, reacts sensitively to mistakes on turn-in, and punishes late or aggressive braking immediately with a snapping rear. In short: the Lambo needs to be driven with intent.
However, if you commit to its character, trail-brake consistently and find the right moment to get back on the power, you'll be rewarded with a car that forgives a surprising amount on exit and delivers enormous satisfaction. The gear ratios suit the Nordschleife well, and traction out of slow corners is genuinely impressive when driven cleanly.
How the Setup Was Developed
Development took place over multiple sessions at the Nordschleife, with consistent data work using various data sources from Second Monitor. Every change was validated on track before the next step was taken.
A central challenge was bottoming out at the rear axle, particularly at Schwedenkreuz and through the fast left-hand sections. Through careful adjustment of bump stop length, spring rate and ARB, the problem was significantly reduced without stiffening the rear to the point of provoking oversteer.
Damper tuning was developed separately for front and rear axles, using Zero Note and Fast/Slow balance analysis. The goal was a symmetric axle balance that allows the car to work naturally – without buying artificial stability through overly stiff settings.
The result is a setup that is drivable without being slow.
What's in the Setup:
- Optimised damper balance via histogram analysis (Fast/Slow, Zero Note)
- Adjusted bump stop length to prevent bottoming in fast left-hand corners
- Spring rate and ARB tuned for Nordschleife demands
- Engine braking dialled in for improved turn-in behaviour
- Carefully balanced rake for stable high-speed sections at Döttinger Höhe and Schwedenkreuz
Driving Style Notes
This setup works best with firm but controlled trail-braking into corners. One important characteristic to be aware of: the Huracán rotates on the throttle – the rear steps out when you apply the power early and progressively out of the apex. This is not a flaw, it's a core trait of the car that can and should be used to your advantage. Don't get on the gas too early or too aggressively – find the right moment and you can drive the car beautifully through the corner. Open the throttle too soon or too hard and the rear will let you know immediately.
