Ginetta G55 GT4 – Nordschleife

The Ginetta G55 GT4 is not a car for straight-line heroes. It simply lacks the top speed that many other GT4 machines bring to the table, and that single fact shapes every lap around the Nordschleife. If you want to be fast here, you have to find your time in the corners, because on the long straights following the corner combinations, the Ginetta loses noticeable ground to the competition.

Great for time attack, tricky in racing

That characteristic makes the G55 a double-edged sword. Through the corner-heavy sections of the Nordschleife, real time can be gained, but as soon as a straight opens up, that advantage evaporates quickly. In a race context, this becomes genuinely difficult: overtaking simply doesn't happen on the straights, and getting stuck behind a slower car through the corners leaves few options to get past. The Ginetta shines brightest in time attack and technical layouts, while wheel-to-wheel racing demands patience and picking the right moments.

Handling that just works

On the driving side, there's little to complain about. The Ginetta turns in cleanly, doesn't snap into aggressive oversteer on corner exit, and stays predictable and controllable throughout. The damper setup already does its job well — a detailed look at the suspension data confirmed that the balance is sound with no changes needed anywhere. None of the four corners come close to the bump stops either, leaving plenty of suspension travel in reserve.

The lap: cautious start, growing confidence

The lap itself told its own story. Early on, a more cautious approach cost some time through slightly early braking and not carrying full corner speed. As confidence in the car grew, that early deficit was clawed back by the end of the lap — a clear sign there's still more time on the table once the braking points get pushed a little further back.

The session closed out with a best lap of 8:38.814 around the Nordschleife
